I was having a lot of shin pain - shin splints. I could only play tennis for minutes at a time until the pain kicked in. I went to see a podiatrist. He studied the way I walked and looked at my shoes. He said to get New Balance "Motion Control" with the "rollbar". It instantly solved my problem. The pain was totally gone and has never come back. I highly reccomend these shoes for anyone who plays tennis and has shin problems.
